It's been years since the Sonali-Terran war. But not every weapon from the war was destroyed.
Ora Tal, a well-known Terran parasitologist arrives in answer to a request for aid at the research facility on Devanagari. Despite being far from home she finds herself settling in and making friends as she works on solving the parasite problem affecting local wildlife.
However, everything changes the day she discovers the locked door to Lab06.
Rumors circulate, but whatever is inside is off-limits. But Ora is not one to let anything get in the way of her new obsession. And she's prepared to risk everything to learn the secrets the Sonali have locked away.
But Ora soon learns that the cost of her curiosity may be too high.
As she sets off a chain of events putting everyone in the facility in danger.
Because what's inside Lab06 was too terrible to use, but too powerful to destroy...

Infection (#2)
Ora Tal, a human scientist, was called in to help solve a problem on Devanagari. She could have done so easily.
But she found a locked door. And despite her vast learning, she never learned that some doors should remain locked. Because some of them are locked for a reason. Some of them conceal terrors from bygone wars, monsters too terrible to contemplate – or control.
So Ora opened the door … and unleashed a horror of infection, death, and destruction. Little did she know that she herself would become infected. Little did she suspect that she would turn into a nightmare far worse than the ones she had set free.
And little did anyone suspect that she wouldn't care. That she would smile when she put the fate of an entire galaxy in peril…
