Overview: Rachel A. Collett is a genuine Jill-of-all-trades. Born in Mesa, Arizona, she was never satisfied with staying in one place, working in one profession, or even pursuing one degree at a time. Still Reeling from the death of her father, Ava Matthias takes her rightful place among The Three. Her role as Defender, long vacant, provides her with training and the chance for revenge against the demons that ripped her family apart.
But The Three remain incomplete without a Guardian, and the only decent candidate is the abrasive Darius, who despises Ava almost as much as she despises him. Even worse, their sanctuary harbors a cast of unknown faces and a traitor in their midst.
