Overview: Forty-five minutes from the tight-knit town of Chestershire lies the peculiar City of Orion. What the City of Orion lacks in high-rise buildings and bustling street life is made up for by its secretive, fantasy-filled forests where cool temperate woods evolve into glowing rainforest flora as one becomes farther away from the menacing circular cliff overlooking the mysterious black lake. The fantastical city is a cosmopolitan of grim darklings, faeries, witches, ginormous spindly spiders, talking wolves, foxes and merpeople. Acacia, an imaginative sixteen-year old, spends her summer there. She resides with her eccentric Aunt Lyra who seems to know more about the forest’s secrets than she lets on. Along the way, Acacia finds herself on the run from the murderous flame-haired witch, Cessira, who is in the midst of releasing a deadly curse that could destroy Orion City as Orion flora and fauna know it. And Cessira has an advantage--she has the stolen book of endings, a book that based on the present depicts the ever-changing future. As Acacia and her friends--Finn (a resourceful dirty blond archer), Trin (a spunky talking rose) and Winter (a witch teller)--are hunted down to prevent any change to Cessira’s perfect future, they must learn to work together if they want to survive, defeat Cessira, and overcome the Alastor Prophecy.
