Overview: Nica runs from hunger… from thirst… from life. She runs from a forced marriage, enslavement, and a future with two inevitabilities: unending hunger and a premature death. Marc Benjamin suffers from Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), a condition that hinders his ability to interact socially. Marc finds himself pulled into a post-apocalyptic reality, Nica’s Earth. Equally strange, his consciousness occupies someone else’s body, a body and reality absent of his crippling disorder. To survive, he must navigate the Houk culture while figuring out how to save Nica, the slave girl he unknowingly condemned.
While discovering the Houk methods used for keeping humans enslaved, Nica and Marc grow close. As time runs down, they must scramble to reveal the Houk conspiracy and free the remnants of humankind.
