Overview: Jon DeLeon is a science-fiction author, CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and online marketing professional from Wellington, Colorado. For years DeLeon has enjoyed and loved science fiction, apocalyptic, fantasy, and action & adventure books, movies, and miniseries. DeLeon found himself swimming with story ideas and a desire to share them. After a few years of writing practice and story structure training, DeLeon is excited to have begun releasing his original stories. Joe Feller, an Army Special Forces officer home on leave between deployments, sits on the beach in Miami but has no idea this relaxing morning is about to turn into an apocalyptic chaos. His brother, Kurt, is all alone, trapped in Russia. Kurt Feller is on a student exchange program. He is not the fighter his brother is, so when he sees news of the zombie outbreak on the internet, he has only one option: run. He has one goal. Kurt must find a way to his brother at all costs. He must outrun the undead and navigate the Russian woods while finding his way in the post-apocalyptic world. If Joe and Kurt are to survive and reunite, a seemingly impossible task, they must each rely on their shared history, and lessons learned, to survive the zombie outbreak.

Kurt Feller sits in a hunting blind, staring at the frozen Russian forest at the edge of the survivor settlement. Stuck for the winter, he’s adapting well to his new home and the strange hodgepodge trailer society that has emerged following the zombie outbreak. Halfway across the world, Kira struggles to learn the rules of Key West harbor and support her new family. She must fend for herself as Joe is fighting against the undead horde up the Florida Keys. They aren’t the only ones adapting to survive. The zombies have been learning. As the winter thaws the apocalypse re-heats, and everyone’s story is threatened to end early.

Joe and Kurt Feller are about to learn that in this zombie world the most dangerous creatures aren’t always the undead, but can be the humans that have survived. Kurt sits, recovering from his near-death experience, in a small cabin in the Russian wilderness. He must wait for Tyler to regain his strength before moving on. Kurt’s intuition is telling him they must find their way out of Russia soon, before the zombies find them. Meanwhile, Joe’s journey across the ocean is underway but promises to be anything but smooth sailing. He also knows time is running out. He must reach Kurt before it’s too late. In his heart he understands that he and his brother must unite if they are both to survive. New friendships are made, and others are broken. Secrets revealed that carry with them dire consequences, and the Feller brothers’ story comes to an end.
