8. Daybreak - ALL HE HAS TO DO IS SURVIVE THE NIGHT.
On his way back from a vital supply run, Keo is ambushed and stranded in an abandoned town that, as it turns out, isn’t so empty after all. With little to count on except his wits and what weapons he can scavenge, he’ll have to fight tooth and nail to see morning.
But Keo isn’t alone forever. He’s joined by a group of slayers bent on cleansing the town of its ghoul infestation. Potential allies should be good news, but these humans also bring along their own problems—a blue-eyed ghoul with a particularly sadistic streak.
The blue eyes have always been unpredictable creatures, but this one in particular seems to take great joy in playing with its victims before striking the fatal blow. And Keo has just found himself in its crosshairs.
The only thing that matters to Keo is to get home. To do that, all he has to do is survive long enough to see daybreak. It’s just one night.
One very, very long night…
9. The Ranch - PROTECT THE HOMESTEAD, WHATEVER THE COSTS.
Keo thought he’d killed it: a blue-eyed ghoul with a particularly sadistic streak unlike anything he has ever faced before. This creature enjoys toying with its victims, creating terrifying scenarios to keep the game going, just before it delivers the fatal blow.
After their initial confrontation outside of Paxton, the ghoul has returned, very much alive and stronger than ever. This time, it’s also brought along friends. A lot of friends.
But Keo won’t have to face the creature alone. He has Lara and Bunker to watch his back, and together they’re not just going to lie down and play dead. If the ghoul wants a fight, then it’ll get one.
Keo isn’t in the mood to play games. He’s defending not just the ranch, but also his family. It’ll be a fight to the end, and there will be no round three.
It’s time to make the donuts.
14. Blood Makes Noise - EVOLVE OR DIE.
Change is a part of life, especially in a post-Purge world.
Keo is changing. He’s no longer the man he once was. He’s not even sure he’s still a man at all. The answer lies somewhere out there—if only he knew what to look for. Before he can do any of that though, he has to survive the hunters that have been on his tail since his unplanned—and as it turned out, unadvised—return to Shaker Town.
Meanwhile, slayer Mancini and Creighton’s leader Katie prepare for an all-out assault by the roving pack of black-eyed ghouls that has targeted them. But these aren’t your ordinary Black Eyes. They’ve somehow gotten smarter, faster, and harder to kill.
Like Keo, the monsters are also evolving, but as long as there are only a few of them out there, it shouldn’t be too hard to deal with this new batch. Mankind is still at the top of the food chain…for now.
15. Blood Reign - A NEW BATTLEFIELD TAKES SHAPE.
Keo continues to change. He doesn’t like it, but it is what it is. The good news? His newfound abilities have enabled him to take the fight to the enemy. The bad news? It’s getting harder to distinguish himself from those same enemies.
As the new, more dangerous breed of ghouls grow in number, the threat they represent cannot be ignored. Which is why Danny and Black Tide are gearing up for a counter-offensive, hoping to nip the problem in the bud before it’s too late. Claire, even more seasoned since the Shaker Town mission, is in the thick of things and will find her mettle tested.
The ghouls are deadlier than ever and unlike the ones that came before them, this new variety has a plan. A plan that, if successful, will force humankind to relive the dark times of The Purge.
The battles will be hard and bloody, but failure is not an option for Keo, Danny, and the forces of Black Tide. Defeat will lead to the end of everything they’ve fought so hard for, and they will not let that happen.
Unfortunately for them, they might not have a choice.
