Cosmic Outlaws Series by Spencer Maxwell (1, 3)

Overview: Spencer Maxwell is an awesome writer. I usually don't read space fiction books,but this one is great. Well written great characters and action. The author also introduces the species in an interesting way that lets the story keep moving. This book drew me in right away and kept me wanting to read one more chapter.

1. Starblazer - Ryze Starlo didn’t plan on leading a rebellion.
Once upon a time Ryze was a soldier, a man of honor and pride, but he left that life behind when the sinister Celestial Dominion took control of the galaxy and claimed his home world of Xovia as their own.
These days, Ryze cruises the cosmos in his ship, the Starblazer, and tracks (and sometimes kills) wanted aliens for money, all while spending way too much time arguing with Spex, his ship's snarky AI.
But when the Starblazer receives a strange transmission from Xovia, the old hero within Ryze awakens.
The message is a call for help. Dominion forces have attacked the planet again, thousands are dying, cities are burning, and Xovia’s young queen Jade is being mercilessly hunted down, because she possesses something the Dominion wants, something they’ll stop at nothing to get, even if it means spilling the blood of the innocent.
Determined, Ryze accepts the mission and sets course for Xovia. He knows it won’t be simple, taking on an evil empire never is, but he also knows peace is one of the few things in the galaxy worth fighting for.
3. Voidrunner - An unlikely hero. An unlikelier Voidrunner.
Stranded and desperately in need of fuel, Ryze Starlo and the other rebels must battle a strange breed of monster on the planet Hypnos.
Across the galaxy, Jade and Sae advance toward the Brink, one step closer to the ultimate goal of destroying the artifact and saving the known universe.
Meanwhile, unaware to both parties, Ace Silver hasn't given up, and he'll do anything to regain his place as the God-King's right-hand man. Anything.
