Requirements: .ePUB Reader, 425 KB
Overview: Normal Space is an action-packed, comedy, science-fiction adventure. Bizarre mutants clash with assassins and criminals in the midst of an apocalypse. This book contains the first three parts of the overarching story.
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy

1. Planet of the Grapes
He only wanted to brew the tea. Now the fate of worlds lies in his pocket.
Serving as an assistant’s assistant on board the Starship Expediter was about as much excitement as Malloy was willing to handle. That changes when his boss takes a lethal coconut to the head during a battle with the native plantmen of the newly discovered planet, Vegania.
He’s told to hand in his gun due to his abysmal aim and, while exploring the Veganian caves, discovers a mysterious artefact known only as The Object. Some think it’s just a chew toy but whatever else it is, it’s the best stress ball Malloy has ever squeezed.
Malloy needs all the stress relief he can muster when the Expediter lands on Vintage, the galaxy’s wine-making capital. What should have been a boozy weekend for the crew turns into a nightmare when the planet is overrun by flesh-eating monsters with claret for blood.
Malloy flees the life he once knew and runs straight into a new one with a crew of shady outlaws, a battered old ship that once belonged to a window cleaner, and more weapons than he’s comfortable with.
Join Malloy in a hilarious as he fights for his life, dodges assassination attempts, takes part in daring heists, and screams in the face of killer monsters. One day, he might even discover the true origin of the mysterious Object.
2. Planet of the Tapes
The crew of the Starship Benson Window Cleaners head to sleazeball pleasure-planet, Keep It Reel, for a business trip. The business in question involves the acquisition of a valuable artefact from a bygone era, easily obtainable by skilled individuals who know their way around a locked door after dark and when no one’s looking.
It all goes swimmingly until an old friend makes a nuisance of himself, and an old boss sticks his nose in. Though, to be fair, the nose is less of a problem than the small army of gunmen that come with it.
The situation only worsens when, amidst the blizzard roar of awakening antiquity, Malloy learns of the terrible fate that awaits him should the ineffable cycles of life that characterise the criminal community play itself out.
As a dark past rises, and Malloy looks down the barrel of a dark future, the present doesn’t look very bright either.
3. Planet of the Drapes
The curtains rise and bitter rivalries are revealed behind the flowing fabric, because creative differences aren’t always amicable.
The Starship Benson Window Cleaners heads to Damask, galactic centre of the curtain industry. All they wanted was a few things to spruce up the ship, but they get more than they bargained for (particularly since they don’t haggle, they steal) when the crew is hired to infiltrate an industry darling’s latest soiree for a spot of espionage.
It all goes great. Until it doesn’t.
Add a small battalion of armed security guards, a few hitmen, the fast-acting poison of the multicoloured absurdity, and an abundance of free alcohol, and things go downhill fast. The situation does not improve when Malloy is forced to face his inner demons and everyone else has to deal with Li’s inability to stand still and be quiet for even a second.
Can the Bensonites escape rough justice when half the team is sloshed on their cocktail of choice? Maybe, with a little help from some new friends.
