Gornstock series by Clive Mullis (#1-3)
Requirements: .ePUB Reader, 1.2 MB
Overview: Clive Mullis (1958-still going) spent his formative years in Hemel Hempstead before moving to Bedfordshire shortly after getting married. After spending time as a paramedic he developed an emergency worker's type sense of humour; a little bit black and a little bit off the wall. The consequence of this is that he enjoys writing quirky stories.

1. Banker's Draft
Somewhere, close to reality, lurks the city of Gornstock.

Private Investigators Jocelyn Cornwallis and Frankie are enjoying a quiet pint down their local when they meet Rose and then they get a case.

There’s been a murder but things take an interesting turn as the team begins to delve into the city’s murky underworld. What seems at first to be just another simple crime develops into something which could rock the very seat of power: the misogynistic and controlling Morris Council.

As the two detectives, and their new trainee, follow the leads, a few surprises come their way: among them; Fluffy the cat; Gerald, who ain't really there; a tea-making dominatrix and, to top it all, the secret police are keeping an interested eye on proceedings. The stakes couldn’t be higher but our detectives don’t know that — yet.

2. Scooters Yard
One man, one grudge, one aim.

Commander Jethro MacGillicudy gets more than he bargained for when he places an advert in the paper. A Watch-House mysteriously catches fire, a cart carries a strange load and there’s a neatly folded pile of clothes.

Someone has committed a crime, so MacGillicudy joins forces with Cornwallis, Frankie and Rose to dig out the truth: a truth which has consequences, a truth which runs too close to home for comfort, a truth which must be discovered before it’s too late.

The crime-solving team have to seek out the not-so-good guys with the help of a cat and twelve very eager recruits, but as ever in this fair city, things don’t always go according to plan.

3. Under Gornstock
Jack Cornwallis has an investment to protect. He enters a business arrangement with Goodhalgan, the King of the Dwarfs, an enterprise that could revolutionise the city.

Little by little, it becomes apparent that someone wants to sabotage the brand new, state of the art, modern system of moving people about the city. What begins with just minor inconveniences slowly turns a bit more serious, culminating in a plot that would have a devastating effect, not only on the dwarfs and Cornwallis but also on the city itself. Who is behind it all? What do they want to achieve? Private Investigators, Cornwallis, Frankie and Rose, need to find the answers, quickly, because they are now playing for the highest of stakes.
