Overview: Life’s pretty sweet in the sprawling mega-city of the North East Corridor. Mind-blowing advances in tech provide a luxurious lifestyle, with AI mechanoids – the Clocks – waiting on you hand and foot… assuming you have a gold chip. For families with a blue chip, dwelling in the gloomy slum-pods below the city’s 50th level, life isn’t so easy.
Meet Geo. At 17, he’s just a few months away from being drafted in to work for OmniTech, the all-powerful corporation that employs and controls just about everyone in the NEC. But with his love for illegal drone-racing, reverse-engineering tech and hacking systems, it’s only a matter of time before he’s dragged before the shadowy secret police, the ALU. But they don’t want to punish him – not yet, anyway – they need his help. Something is dangerously wrong with the latest batch of Clocks, and only Geo’s less-that-legal skills can help.
But what is really behind this violent robot rebellion? And is Geo willing to compromise his ethics and work for the corporation he hates? He doesn’t seem to have much choice…
