Planet of the Dead (Book 1)
In the not too distant future, NASA’s first yearlong mission to Mars mysteriously loses contact with Earth. When the desperate crew of the Space Shuttle Aldrin arrives home, there are no marching bands, fanfares, or joyous reunions to greet them, only a lonely trek across the barren desert toward a mysterious base in the distance. There they are welcomed by a shadowy figure moving steadily toward them in the setting sun’s fading glow. Ship’s Doctor Jessica Salgado is the first to recognize the form and calls out to Captain Michael Hanson, “Mike, that’s a man, and he’s shambling toward us.” At the darkened base, the crew stumbles upon a mystery of locked doors, disarray, and bloodstained walls. When they find the base’s commander, Major Tomlinson, slumped over his desk, long dead from a self-inflicted gunshot to the head, they also recover his dormant laptop, complete with his journal telling of a nightmarish pandemic sweeping across the planet, which leaves in its path a plague of walking dead. They read of Tomlinson’s attempt to build a Rescue Center near Dallas under the tutelage of the powerful, but eccentric, General Billy Taggart. When Tomlinson discovers there is more going on at the Rescue Center than meets the eye, he and a small band of followers are forced to flee before the fort is overrun by the zombie horde pushing at its gates. With the knowledge recovered from Tomlinson’s laptop, the crew of the Aldrin must set off on their own cross-country journey through a wasteland teeming with reanimated, rotting, and ravenous corpses, in search of the last living survivors on the Planet of the Dead.
Survivors (Book 2)
The crew of the space shuttle Aldrin has returned from a year in space, only to discover that the lush planet they left behind has been decimated by a viral pandemic. After learning about the possible existence of a band of survivors in the Midwest, the astronauts set off on a cross-country trek, only to find themselves beset by countless hordes of the walking dead. In Little Rock, a young teacher and an old woman struggle to build a fortified community within the chain-linked confines of an abandoned high school. With new survivors joining daily, they discover there is more to fear than the living dead outside the gates - an enemy has found its way inside. A small band of soldiers narrowly escapes death when their fort is overrun. Now they find themselves wandering across the country. As fate draws these groups together, they will need all of their skills, resourcefulness, and luck as they learn to survive on the planet of the dead.
Showdown (Book 3)
Commander Mike Hanson and the crew of the Space Shuttle Aldrin have fought their way across the zombie-infested wasteland that was once America. Finally within sight of their destination - a fortified high school in Little Rock - they find that the last mile of their journey might be the longest. The city is teeming with swarms of the living dead and the secure community they hoped to find is surrounded by a swarm of the ravenous dead. Desperate to find a way inside the school, Hanson stumbles onto a terrifying secret that draws him and his crew into a cataclysmic showdown with the walking dead. Salvation may be in sight for Hanson's crew, or certain doom for the last surviving humans on the planet of the dead.
