Overview: Time is an ever-winding path that stretches out into infinity, leaving behind all those that walked it for an unnoticeably small period. Their crumbling bones that paved the way the only sign, the only fading memory of their existence.
Few get the chance to truly witness how small they are, how painfully inconsequential their lives are - that knowledge signifying the end for many. Yet fewer still get the chance to overcome that limitation and walk in step with time. But He did.
Be it a curse or a gift, He got the chance to come back. To live once again in a world that has grown foreign, unfamiliar during His absence. The conflicts and apocalyptic clashes of wild magic – nothing but a distant memory, echoes of faded glory rotting away in forgotten ruins.
Magic was tamed now. Chained. Safer. Available to the wider masses to be used for the mundane, played around like a child would with pets. Yet even a domesticated animal could bare its fangs when cornered, could bite the hand that holds its chain firmly.
Already the air shakes as its low growl sounds, like an ominous sign, a premonition of a calamity to come. A calamity He would need to face. Every choice has a price and nothing is ever truly free.
