Global Divide series by Peter Rodriguez (#1-2)

Overview: I am an immigrant, born in Mexico in the early 80s. A single soul amongst a small town called Zamora in the state of Michoacan. Back then the only reading available was from the high priced retail businesses which were quite a ways away from my home but nonetheless, that in itself was not enough to stop me from saving up a small amount of pesos, enough to pay for the ride to and from the closest retail district which was about 44 minutes away. Once there, I was immediately immersed in all kinds of literature, from titles such as "Popular Science" to different types of Arcade gaming mags. Eventually I stumbled upon the awesome and illustrious world of "Comics" Batman was my favorite, I felt a connection immediately with just understanding the images since the writing was in english. I fell in love with everything from superheroes to sci-fi related stuff. Everything about technology also tweaked my interest. As I turned 10 years of age, a terrible accident took the lives of both of my parents, leaving myself and my siblings orphaned and under the care of our nearest kin... our grandparents.

1. Ryu Rising
A dark, scorched surface. A black mist that destroys on contact. A serum that keeps you young. The reality as explained in the Global Divide. A Sci-Fi series that will have you in suspense while you immerse yourself into a world unrecognized by our current standards. A world deep in the future where the Apocalypse has taken place and society has destroyed itself leaving a small group of survivors in its wake. In this new aftermath, survivors must adhere to their new subjectors. The elites that are now in control demand loyalty without compensation. Their goal is to rebuild the Earth to its former glory while eliminating any of the human attributes that caused its demise in all previous wars. Anyone in opposition is subject to death and immediately killed. A group of highly skilled mercenaries disagree with the new oppressors and fight for the right to rebuild the Earth with the use of advanced technology. One that doesn't involve the destruction of the human race. In this new battle, a teenager whom is forcefully recruited by the military wing of the Global World Order, finds himself at odds with his new way of life and decides to follow his conscious. An option that will indirectly tie him to the fate of the planet.
2. GWO Mobilizing
The battle for the revitalization of the Earth continues. The resistance have been dealt a major blow, a Siphon has been destroyed, their energy almost depleted. They now find themselves desperately seeking assistance from any survivors in order to increase their dwindling ranks. If they fail, the war will be lost and everything thus far will become insignificant. The GWO begins their second phase of destruction while Hiro continues to climb up in rank. Turbo, and the others try to focus on the mission at hand, almost defeated and in no shape to push forward. Tragedy had struck them, claiming the lives of two of their members. The Professor, having found new intel on Ryu’s Neckpiece, was scurrying to decipher the information, believing it held some clues as to why Ryu had superhuman powers. A new set of characters enter the fray, mighty and also resilient. Are they friend or foe? And what is their motive? Can the Resistance battle back and get the much needed help in time to stop the GWO’s relentless assault. Or will the world finally see the end of all humankind?
