2. The Death of a Suspect - Who killed Avery?
All the clues point to one person; Avery is sure of it. Of course, she's been wrong about almost everything so far. As she searches for clues with her Vessel and Clark Daniels, she realizes that some things aren't adding up.
Will Avery and her friends be able to find out who the killer is or are they headed for another dead end? And how exactly do you accuse someone of murder?
Things are bound to get awkward as the summer comes to an end and Avery is forced to look at people differently than she ever has before.
3. The Death of a Swan - Starting senior year at Clearview Academy was supposed to be an exciting time, but for Avery Lewis things are a bit more complicated than your average senior. Being dead and using someone else's body to go to school wasn't exactly how she imagined this year to go. Going from the most popular to invisible new girl was enough to make anyone irritated.
At least she has Laney - her Vessel, and Clark – her almost boyfriend, sometimes, and Lindsey – her sister. The four of them have one mission : to find her killer. Step one, make her popular again. That should be easy, right? She was Avery Lewis, after all.
Yeah. Not so much.
4. The Death of A Cheerleader - Things are starting to really heat up between Avery -posed as Laney- and Cassie Andrews. The pranks are getting out of hand. The battle between the two is reaching a peak, and one of them will win.
Who gets to be on top?
For Avery, it's more important than ever to beat Cassie at her own game. As her search for her killer continues and her fight with Cassie escalates to a dangerous level, Avery starts to wonder how anyone makes it out of high school alive.

It’s the thing Avery has been searching for since she woke up dead behind the dumpster. She had been searching for who killed her and why for so long.
The answers she got weren’t the ones she expected. And now that she knew, her fragile world was crashing in on her. Exposing the truth meant hurting the one she loved but she was running out of time and out of options.
