Amenthas was a very odd man, a priest of the god Arraneth, he died of drowning a long time ago. For most men, that would have been the end of everything. He would be nothing but a corpse resting silently in a dark grave, or if cremated, dust blowing in the wind, or settling quietly over countless centuries in a sealed urn.
However, in the land of the dead, Amenthas became father to a little silvery-haired girl and built a magnificent marble palace on a plateau where water flowed from a giant snake’s head, creating a miraculous waterfall. In essence, he was busier as a dead man than as a living one. Yet, he was not alive.
Practically no one knew what he was. No one knew why he could exercise tremendous, miraculous, even god-like powers with impunity. Because of his tremendous powers, which Arraneth apparently never gave him, and as a result, had no control over.
Amenthas had no idea if his little daughter would ever grow up, since she was conceived without a mother, and was birthed by a man. However, she grew into a woman, and Amenthas realized that she had to be given the chance to have a real life. To give Liriamme the chance to live as a proper woman, Amenthas ended up creating a real, living world in a small pocket of space for the love of his daughter.
