In the aftermath of the devastation caused by the cosmic horror of the Flawless, Caine ascends to the throne of the Dragon World and struggles to pull civilization out of the rubble. The future is dark with omens. He builds bridges to the leaders of Earth and the Courts of Fairy, knowing the main worlds must stick together or die separately in the jewel-tone death-winds of the Flawless. The next attack could come at any time and the Silver Clan is resisting his efforts as the new God-emperor of the planet. This threatens his dedicated time for drinking and whoring around. But at least he's got a handle on the ticking time-bomb inside himself: the bioweapon his father implanted when he was a baby. Unrelenting greed and a will to power are the prime requirements for a proper demon lord. Though not technically a demon, Caine Deathwalker qualifies. The worlds of the multiverse are falling in line with his agenda as he takes on the Mother of all Flawless while planning yet another political marriage to unify the vampire clans under his sometimes benevolent rule. There is conflict in the harem with fresh blood coming in--and a misfired wedding rehearsal that sends them tumbling into a new hell-dimension that is highly interested in the new visitors. An unseen, mental enemy is raising an army of golems against them. And the terrorist threat of the new Human's First Alliance is flexing its muscle: firing rockets, and assault weapons freely, and attacking the supernatural community in L. A. Amid the usual chaos, Caine is challenged by having acquired too much power; his godhood has him on a precipice, mutating into whatever the hell it is that comes after being a god. The very essence of his being is fracturing and he's not alone. Reality is following his lead.
