Atlantic Island: Guardian series by Rennie St. James, Fredric Shernoff (#1,3)

Overview: Rennie St. James shares several similarities with her fictional characters (heroes and villains alike) including a love of chocolate, horror movies, martial arts, yoga, and travel. She doesn't have a pet mountain lion but is proudly owned by three rescue kitties. They live in relative harmony in beautiful southwestern Virginia (United States). Azimuth (Rahki Chronicles 1) was released in 2018 as Rennie's first urban fantasy series (Book 5 will be published in 2021). Rennie also has drabbles and short stories included in several multi-author anthologies. In 2019, she joined Fred Shernoff's Atlantic Island Universe. All three books in her Atlantic Island:Guardian trilogy will be available in 2020. Time is running out for Scout Ainsley to save the world…and choose a college. The artifacts continue to bring new powers. They also bring new enemies. He still has two more to find, but he has few friends left to help him. Trust doesn’t come easily to the former Atlantic Island soldier with memories of war and death still haunting his nights and days. Scout’s journey isn’t over yet, and a new sacrifice is required. Blood must be spilled. The question is whether Scout can survive his senior year and become the Guardian or if his past will destroy his future.
