Overview: T.B. Phillips is a sailor and veteran of the U.S. Navy. After serving his country he focused on serving his community as an educator, teaching English and Language Arts as well as United States and World History. He began his novelist journey after a challenge by his children. As a single father he worked hard to encourage literacy and interest in the arts, and he and his children read and discussed books of all genres throughout the years. His aim is to both educate and entertain his audience by developing believable characters, many of whom are wrought by deep rooted and personal trauma. Many are a reflection of his extensive work with incarcerated youth and many others who struggled with mental health and behavioral setbacks. His heroes are the unlikeliest, as evidenced in his debut novel, "Andalon Awakens."
