Sometimes the worst person is the best man for the job. Ashe is a fortune hunter without peer. His fire magic is renowned throughout the many realms. To make her whole, he needs to carve through a dark empire to take back the cure from its leader. Her mother. Ashe’s ex. The odds are against him. The bloody empress has united the east with demonic armies of super-tech and sorcery. The tattered west possesses only one real advantage. A band of mercenaries renowned for turning many a tide. The Brigands. Ashe is now one of them. Can Ashe and his allies seize the cure for his daughter from his former lover? If they hope to prevail, there will be a cost. What will need to be sacrificed? Who will need to be sacrificed? Will it be enough?

You can't go home again, especially when it's infested by a brain-hacked horde. She thought she lost it all. Her kingdom. The war. The love of her life. Twice. Now, ViRauni just wants to hide in the dark on a forgotten island in the middle of nowhere. But things creep on that island. Things with a dire connection to her past. They await her eagerly to inflict new losses. She will need to lead the reduced ranks of the Brigands to meet this threat. They will have to use every magic and super tech trick to prevail. But her dark cravings might make things worse. Can she overcome her inner turmoil? Will she succumb to her inner darkness along the way? Will she like it if she does?
