Seven Levels
Zachary Richards has a problem — he has died and gone to hell. He assumed he lived a good life, so banishment to the underworld doesn’t feel warranted. He wonders what he did to deserve it. Zack soon discovers he is the worst offender. He has been banished to the darkest corner of hell and will experience the rest of eternity suffering for his sins. But first, he gets the grand tour of the easier levels. There’s a nursing home for cranky retirees and a retail mall full of lazy workers. Hell has a special place designed for everyone. Along the way, Zack is beaten and bruised. He’s forced to eat atomic-level spicy food and gets whipped for weaving a basket incorrectly. Zack hates each level he visits but discovers the punishments are getting more severe. He wishes he could return to a simpler level and live out eternity there. As each floor gets worse and worse, Zack decides to slow the adventure and delay the inevitable. He makes friends and tries to fix their problems, thinking it will benefit his cause. But in the end, there’s nothing Zack can do. This is hell, after all, and all sins must be paid for in full.
The Tower
The Highlands are full of monsters. Brave warriors battle through quests to earn experience points, find rare loot, and gather gold. It’s a treasure trove for leveling up and getting stronger, that is, if you know what you’re doing. For a farm-boy like Percy, questing through the Highlands has been a lifelong dream. He’s worked on a farm his entire life and all he ever thought about was venturing through the Highlands and collecting weapons. Then one day he gets that chance. Percy is given a rare sword, but it comes at a steep price. In exchange, all Percy has ever known gets destroyed. The Highlands are full of bandits and thieves. What Percy thought would be a glorious adventure, turns into a path of destruction and revenge. This isn’t the way the Highlands should be. Perhaps there’s a way he can fix it. Meanwhile, Durgon Mightount is the most experienced guide in the Highlands. But that honor comes with a curse — he’s plagued by nightmares. He's the only warrior to travel up the Merciful Gate and survive. Everyone else who attempted the quest has perished. Instead of facing his demons, Durgon chooses to escort children. Durgon’s clients come from a royal bloodline and are willing to pay to be guided through the Highlands. Durgon teaches them how to avoid traps and techniques for defeating bosses. Along the way, Durgon wants to avoid the Merciful Gate. But it's all the kids can talk about. Then later, he has a new mysterious client willing to pay for that same privilege. It seems no matter what Durgon does, his transgressions will catch up to him, and he’ll be forced to visit the deadly tower once again. But this time he has a plan. This time the tower will fall. He is sure of it.
