2. Bonds That Blind - Iris is ready for an education . . . but is on her way to being schooled.
Iris has made it to Garfield College and is finally feeling like she belongs. She and her roommate become fast friends, she's doing well in her classes, and she's found a sorority of like-minded women to join.
She's got a plan to be the freshman board member of her new sorority, and Jacob is along for the ride. They're going to throw an epic cross-campus party, and it will put them both on the map. Things are going according to plan until Iris accidentally reveals her alternate form. Nobody believes her when she tries to explain, and she's forced to confess to Mr. Anu what she's done.
On top of that, she discovers that Mr. Anu has secret plans for the future that don't bode well for humanity. She's not willing to go along with hurting people even if they've been unaccepting of her. But when she balks, what will Mr. Anu do? Will he spare her, when she turns aside from what he most desires?
And, is sparing her really the better fate?
