Overview: Thousands of years ago, the human race happened to come across an alien civilization under siege by the Machine Empire. Despite their best collaborative efforts, the planet of Terminus fell--leaving only one surviving megalopolis intact. The descendants of that conflict teamed up with the survivors to be a guard station against any future encroachments by the Machine Empire--a role that spanned almost 20,000 years and so the city of Ekodi was born. And along with it...a new generation of citizens and advanced technology. Technology that gave rise to better defenses and countermeasures which spawned the development of the 500 Series cyborgs. And one unit, Kaitlin in particular. Her history is one of strife and development and rebirth after a hack job from an outside agency nearly destroys her--forcing her creators to rebuild her using parts from a scrapped prototype cyborg unit. But even then, Kaitlin discovers a world that few have had the chance to experience and a destiny that could affect the survival of millions of humans and their interracial descendants. Providing she chooses the right path in the end.
