1. Guardians of the Grove
Fifteen-year-old Meeka has trained her entire life for the ranks of the Sacred Grove. When her plans go awry, she flees her home and joins the Bow Maidens, a band of lethal women warriors. As she struggles to find herself, Meeka discovers her hidden gift—an ancient magic of her ancestors. Meanwhile, the assassination of the king leaves Adrik, a young monk, next in line for the throne. To save the kingdom from the ruthless Duke, Adrik must join forces with an orphaned cutpurse, an over-sized monk, and bumbling aristocrat. Adrik's survival—and that of the kingdom—depend on the alliances and friendships he forges.
2. Daughter of the Forest
When harassing forces bring Meeka, Adrik, and Illiya together for the first time, they find themselves cornered at the Dark Mesa. Nowhere to flee, they brace to defend the remnants of the Sacred Grove to the end. Tormented with the memory of the death of her sisters and the Priestess, Meeka struggles to free herself of guilt. When a battered blood maiden dies in her arms, Meeka decides she can no longer hide in the Elder Forest. To find peace, she seeks contrition. When Adrik's Shadow King forces fail to oust King Korba, the last Tournbul heir confiscates the Sword of Ancestors in a desperate bid to find allies. With his shadow army dispersed, Adrik discovers allies, but they aren't among the living. In a desperate plight to resolve the cryptic prophecy and find the Daughter of the Forest, blood maidens are tasked to retrieve the elusive daughter. But, with their Sacred Grove in ashes, cornered, and outnumbered, can the warrior maidens survive? Or, is this the end for the Daughters of Semali?
