The Piper Revolution Trilogy by Giselle Ava (#1-2)

Overview: Before becoming a writer, Giselle was a communication scientist. After a decade of writing articles for science, the coronapandemic hit us all in 2020 and she got stuck at home, with heaps of time (no traffic to work saves her a lot of time :)). So she used this extra time to start writing fantasy novels. Since life is better with a little (or a lot of) magic, she writes (urban) fantasy....for now ;)

1. Redeemer
The revolution has fallen. Its leader is dead. There’s a voice in your head saying it’s all your fault. These are the things Arthur knows as he lies in a ruined street, covered in blood.
1923 London, a city of steam and copper, is in the grips of war. On one side, the vicious regime led by the enigmatic Charles Fortescue; and on the other, a scattered revolution made up of deadly individuals called mechanicals, harnessing power so devastating their bodies have been reconstructed with metal parts.
Arthur is one of these mechanicals, tortured forever by the power in his blood. They turned his own family against him. They made him fight in their last war. They stripped him of his humanity. And now London burns. But Arthur is alive, and for as long as he lives, he will fight. For Arthur, the real war has just begun.
2. Saviour
There is a spark in the gears of the Piper Revolution, lit by Arthur and his crew, but there’s also a mysterious whine telling Arthur that he’s the reason it all fell apart.
Following his escape from the Gresham Club, Arthur ventures to a revolutionary hideout called the Crossroads where he meets the venerated Thomas Cobbe, the closest thing they have to a leader now. But Thomas doesn’t want to fight.
Unfortunately for him, Arthur has a way of getting things done his way, and soon the people of the Crossroads may have to pick a side.
