My name is Kai Morran, and I'm cursed.
My mother died, and I just lost my job in a freak accident... again. And, oh yeah, apparently I'm the only person that can see the creepy creatures of darkness called Shadows that pop out of the ground and turn people into monsters. So everything's been going pretty great.
Then these people show up and tell me that I have to join them or the Shadows will tear apart my soul. So here I am, joining forces with a secret guild of people who use swords and magic… yep, magic. ‘Cause, why not? And of course I happen to be joining at the worst possible time.
The Shadows are multiplying like rabbits, people are dying left and right, and nobody in the guild knows what's going on. Oh and by the way, the Shadows hate me in particular for some reason.
I have to try and stay alive long enough to figure out why the Darkness is suddenly so strong and put an end to it. If I don't, the entire world will be covered in Shadows.
2. Dark Prisoners &Other Problems - Kai Morran. Powerful Wielder of magic and a crystal sword. Also the dude who broke the universe.
I went from random guy who couldn't keep a job to a member of this secret group of superheroes. They call it a guild, and they call us Wielders, but they have no vision. I'm definitely a superhero.
Unfortunately, I made a teany-tiny mistake that may or may not have broken the universe. Now, the guild is being attacked, and there's a pretty good chance it's all my fault. Add in the fact that we have a prisoner in our dungeon, my Bestie is still on probation, and the Shadows are still walking around, and this is turning out to be a pretty bad month.
Now there are mysteries all around me, my new guildmates are in danger, and it's up to me to fix everything before there are no Wielders left to protect the universe. Basically... I'm still cursed.
