Overview: I enjoy many things--camping, hiking, epic music, games, superhero movies, super-spy movies, and playing the guitar. I have recently taken up Karate, Shito-ryu style, and have dragged my kids into it. Like most writers, I enjoy reading, and of late have particularly enjoyed Brandon Sanderson's work.
Genre: Sci-Fi/Fantasy
1. The Bone Wolf King - Cam didn’t free the terrifying Bone Wolf King from its prison, but everyone blames him anyway. Now he’s on the run with the mysterious Elenna Whitewinter, a girl from a race of shapeshifting deceivers. Elenna knows how to defeat the monsters slaughtering the people of High Home, but no one trusts her…except Cam. Hunted and alone, Cam and Elenna set out to kill a creature no one has seen in two hundred years to save people that want them dead. But for Cam, what Elenna tells him about his identity is the hardest truth to accept, a truth that will change his life forever.
2. The Long Dark - The road to becoming a Doan warrior is a long one. While Cam must face distrust and long days of training, he also attracts the interest of Uelia, the beautiful Festival Master of High Home. His acts of bravery swell his fame and the jealousy of his brother. With winter approaching, the people of High Home decide to cross the Long Dark to see what’s on the other side. What they find splits the Doans and the people of High Home, and Cam and his new mother are faced with an awful choice: leave the people of High Home to suffer or flee with their Doan companions to find their people.
4. Daiygmar - How did it come to this? The mine was cruel, but for Cam, Tsarranon is worse. Doubly so for a Rootless Daiygmar hated by just about everyone. But even more distressing than assassins and dealing with his scheming stepmother is the knowledge that to save the world from a Nausch invasion, he will need to let Ahkra kill him so she can take his throne and unite the Doans and the Kingdom of Calaphas. Reuniting with old Doan friends convinces him that sacrificing his life for the greater good is what a healer would do, but those who love him have other plans.
5. The King of Horrors - The Nausch invasion is imminent. Cam must face Molne, Horrors, and the King of Horrors itself to save the world from certain destruction. As Cam’s body, heart, and mind are broken, he must anchor to the healer within himself to push through violence and sorrow. In him is the power to cross the threshold of death, learn the secrets of his enemies, and push the darkness back. When the King of Horrors comes to take the skins and spirits of the world to fashion an alien kingdom, Cam and his allies fight and fall together in a last stand to save what’s left of the world.
