Xaros - Jungle Planet (#1)
Hauled back from the frontline of an interstellar war humanity is halfway to losing, out-of-favour warship captain Jed Grisham is offered a mission he doesn’t want, but can’t refuse.
The Human Federation has lost contact with a settlement on a fringe world – Xaros - and the military wants Grisham to head out there and investigate. He’s given command of the spacecraft Marauder, along with a handful of soldiers. It should be more than enough for a mission that’s been classed as distinctly low risk.
Arriving at Xaros, it quickly becomes apparent that something is badly wrong. Everyone has gone missing, with no indication how or why.
Deployed from the Marauder, Sergeant Tyrus Maxwell and his nine soldiers are the boots on the ground. Tasked with the job of finding out what happened on Xaros, Maxwell will soon find himself in the gravest of danger and in a situation that none of his combat experience has prepared him for.
Meanwhile in the skies above, Captain Grisham has challenges of his own – challenges that require far more firepower than he has at his disposal.
The coming events will change everything.

War Vessel of the Ax'Kol (#2)
Having escaped the bloodbath at Xaros by the skin of his teeth, warship captain Jed Grisham waits for his next mission. The Human Federation’s war with the Kijol rages. Defeat looms for humanity.
Out of the blue, Grisham’s commanding officer invites him to join a game as deadly as any Kijol Eternus. The Human Federation is in danger of fracturing and battle lines will soon be drawn. Grisham has no choice but to pick a side.
Against this backdrop, he’s given a new mission. On the surface, it’s innocuous. He’s to investigate planet Ovintus and find out if the Kijol are also at war with the alien species from Xaros.
The mission gets off to the worst possible start. Grisham, his crew, and a contingent of soldiers are plunged into the most dangerous situation imaginable. Trapped on Ovintus, the mission personnel find themselves attacked by not one, but two hostile alien species.
Hanging over Grisham is the knowledge that even if he makes it home, his troubles won’t nearly be over.
His one hope lies beneath the fused sands of Ovintus - if only he can seize the opportunity.
Voltran Unchained (#3)
For warship Captain Jed Grisham, it seems like the harder he fights, the deeper into the mire he sinks.
Having recovered the Ax’Kol battleship Voltran from the deserts of Ovintus, he’s suddenly the centre of attention in the Human Federation. As the divide grows between the two major factions vying for control of the human fleet, Grisham and his alien spacecraft are viewed as both a threat and a target.
Still, the missions keep coming and with each one he learns more about the Ax’Kol. He becomes certain they are a far greater threat than the Kijol will ever be.
As Grisham struggles with the demands of battle and the foul play of politics, he’s offered the grubbiest mission of his career so far. If he refuses, those he thought friends might well become his greatest enemies. If he accepts, he loses everything he holds dear.
To come out ahead, Grisham will have to put the Voltran to the test. The Ax’Kol warship is different to anything he’s ever known – not only is it equipped with conventional armaments, but it can also fight with psionics. Grisham is about to be introduced to a whole new kind of space combat.
Failure isn’t an option. The Ax’Kol are steadily wiping out the Kijol and humanity will be next. Grisham needs to fix the rift in the Human Federation, help bring peace with the Kijol, and blow his enemies to pieces at the same time.
It’s just another fine day in the military.
