03 The Bastard's Gambit
The foresters have little time to rest following their triumph at the Battle of the Kirc. A new Pathuli wizard has come, bringing a powerful magic that could destroy them all. Forced to flee, with an enemy army in pursuit, Galeran has no choice but to lead the surviving foresters to a most dangerous place: the already-besieged city of Eldethon.
Meanwhile, Astrida languishes in the dungeon of the royal palace while the Ra-Haizur’s sorcerer, Obrius, employs his darkest powers to break her spirit. And with his sorcery, Obrius will use Astrida’s heart to find Galeran.
As the Docor foresters race across the countryside, and the Pathuli forces close in, Galeran and his friends will have to risk everything to get their people to safety. Or God’s Fire will burn them all …
04 The Bastard's Siege
The foresters have found a new home, but now they must survive a siege …
Galeran has led the foresters to Eldethon, a city under siege by thousands upon thousands of Pathuli soldiers led by the tactically-savvy General Ralaimi. With food and water running out, the Docor must find ways to repel the constant attacks by the enemy.
Khulus, the Pathuli sorcerer, will do anything to slay the King’s Bastard. With God’s Fire at his disposal, he plans to burn the city to the ground.
05 The Bastard's Hell
The time has come for the Docor and Trahernic to reclaim Wrodor …
With Eldethon secure, Galeran sets out with a small force to take the fight to the Pathuli. Cutting a deadly swath through the north, Galeran leads his select warriors into the heart of Wrodor, to an old, hallowed place full of happy and haunted memories. When he arrives he must make friends of the insular mountainfolk, the Gregante, before searching for more allies in the south.
The only way to win this war is to unite all forces in Wrodor.
But a terrible, devastating truth awaits Galeran, one he must face, or all is lost.
Both despairing and vengeful, Galeran is determined to bring hell to his enemies.
