Overview: Suzette Haden Elgin was an American science fiction author. She founded the Science Fiction Poetry Association, and is considered an important figure in the field of science fiction constructed languages. Elgin was also a linguist; she published non-fiction, of which the best-known is the Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense series.
In addition, she published works of shorter fiction. Overlying themes in her work include feminism, linguistics and the impact of language, and peaceful coexistence with nature. Many of her works also draw from her Ozark background and heritage.

01 The Communipaths
The author's first novel, preceded by several nonfiction works. Space opera set in the thirty-first century. The hero, Coyote Jones, a telepathic superhuman, is an agent who works for the Tri-Galactic Intelligence Service. The first of the three Communipath novels.

02 Furthest
When Coyote Jones visited the planet Furthest, he was strictly limited in the areas he could see. He could move freely within the city where he worked, and in a couple of smaller towns, but everything else was forbidden—especially the giant dome that covered a city called Ta Klith.
Naturally that was the first place he went, when he’d eluded his watchers.
He reached the dome safely—only to be astounded when he found nothing inside. No city of three hundred thousand people as the Furthesters had claimed, only a bare expanse of rock and water under that huge dome.
Then why were the Furthesters hiding it? And... what deeper mysteries remained on this enigmatic world?
