Overview:Stan C. Smith’s secret formula? Create strange worlds filled with even stranger creatures. Drop in unsuspecting characters. Shake vigorously. The results are always fun—unless you’re a character in his worlds. Stan lives with his wife Trish deep in the Ozark Forest of Missouri, where creatures are more docile than those in his novels. His goal is to stimulate your sense of wonder, get your heart pounding, and keep you reading late into the night. His books are for anyone who loves adventure, discovery, and mind-bending surprises.
Genre: Sci-Fi/Fantasy

1. Primal Eclipse - A new world for Earth’s last survivors. But something deadly waits for darkness to fall.
Ember Steele only wanted to live a full life. That’s why she went into stasis, to wait for a cure for her terminal disease. Now she and five other people awaken in a spacecraft, far from Earth. Hundreds of years have passed. Everyone Ember knew is long dead. And what’s worse—far, far worse—humanity is all but extinct.
Ember and the others aren’t astronauts, scientists, or soldiers, yet they’ve been selected for a monumentally important mission. Why? Because they all have the same terminal condition, making them the only people who can survive in a faster-than-light needle ship.
Their mission: select a suitable terraformed planet for human civilization to start over.
The clock is ticking. With limited air and no food or water, this ragtag team must act fast or fail. They land on Tenoth, a seemingly hospitable world, but soon find themselves in a nightmare of deception and danger. Worst of all are the eclipses, when Tenoth’s moons obstruct its sun. For when the darkness comes, so comes death.
2. Feral Colony - Is a world of perpetual sunlight and savagery the only hope for Earth’s last humans?
Ember, Seven, and their companions survived the apocalypse, but that was easy compared to the challenge they face now. These six improbable heroes must find a habitable world for twelve thousand people being held in stasis—the last remaining humans on Earth.
The clock is ticking. Ember and the others are dying from contamination, and their only hope for a cure is to get the job done. With several terraformed worlds to choose from, the first was a bust. Sure, that planet was pleasant enough, until a solar eclipse occurred and billions of flesh-eating bugs emerged from hiding.
With no time to rest, the team jumps to the second world, Coratune. Terraformed centuries ago and seeded with humans and other Earth life forms, Coratune seems promising. But the humans here haven’t progressed as planned—they’ve gone feral. Forced by a dysfunctional robot into a harrowing journey across a hostile landscape, Ember and her companions find a glimmer of hope… but can hope endure in the midst of appalling savagery?
