Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy

1. The Great Dying - At the end of a third terrible year, five great nations struggle with unprecedented famine. What can they do when farms yield a fraction of their needs? Rivers contain few fish. Even the great herds of the steppes dwindle. It seems their very world is dying, slowing claiming the lives of plants and animals alike, forcing humans to turn on one another.
Isolated in the west by a mountain range, small skirmishes break out between the Kingdom of Ekonae and Sabua Nation. Sonas Estuary, once the most abundant source of life in the world has declined to a worrying level. Such is the strain on their nations that the king of Ekonae and emperor of Sabua agree to a duel to the death. The winner will possess the once shared resource in its entirety while the loser faces accelerated decline.
In the east, the Republic of Botlea, the largest and oldest nation, lacks the breadth of coastline possessed by Kendea and Lasai. The three senator primes that rule there must decide if war with one or both of their neighbors is the right course.
With resources at an all-time low, every nation grows desperate. Many turn to the mysterious sky children, those who fall from the sky in eggs as babes. Aside from a few rare magical artifacts, only they possess magic. Though often hidden away, the sky children must leverage their secretive powers if anyone is to survive long enough to discover the source of the great dying.
3. Expanding Ruin - The winter of 913-914 batters the war-torn people of Tolmenas. While sovereigns sleep in castles and palaces with full bellies, commoners starve on the streets. The average age across the continent plummets as those with weakened bodies succumb to the greatest famine in history.
As one of the longest ruling primes in Botlea's history, Lim Shant possesses more than wealth. He's been grooming a sky child for years and believes her magic is finally powerful enough to strike at countries beyond Omthik Ridge.
The tentative peace in the west can't deflect the mounting wave of death. Famine, disease, crime, all things that tear at the workings of society are increasing. The rulers of Ekonae and Sabua agree finding the source of the great dying is a priority, if such a thing exists, but they don't have long before an unexpected calamity crashes upon them.
4. Dark Destiny - An unending tide of conflict threatens to unravel a society plagued by disease, crime, and starvation. If left unchecked, no one will survive.
The onslaught of multiple wars transforms eastern Tolmenas beyond recognition. Entire cities lay destroyed, while bandits attack every wagonload of goods. Amidst such chaos, a savvy merchant from Kendea believes it's the perfect time to harness the power of two sky children.
The cessation of fighting in western Tolmenas over the winter is only temporary. Both sides are amassing their strength for the upcoming battle, while Ekonae hopes to utilize their newfound magic.
