Overview: In a desperate attempt to shoot down their greatest enemy, the Japanese Air Force target Captain Samantha Hunt, and lose the second battle of Tokyo.
Hit by multiple missiles, Sam and her RIO, Chris Hisakawa, punch out of their F/A-14. Drifting to the sea, she sees her people keeping the F-15s at bay and realizes that the Japanese are trying to kill her at the expense of their own mission. She's sees the danger to her own people as they put everything on the line to save her. In that moment she knows, she can no longer fly.
When the USS Dwayne Hubler picks her and Chris up, it comes under attack, losing its XO and its Captain. Halsey sees an opportunity and makes Samantha Hunt the captain of the Hubler, and the commander of Destroyer Squadron 26.
Now, she's in the black shoe navy, and Sam must once again prove herself. Now, she's a Tin Can Airedale.
