Requirements: .ePUB reader, 459 kB
Overview: In Eirinn, a nation divided by different races and governed by power, the god's have withdrawn. Some say it is to stop their bickering from ending the people they presided over; others say they left to allow mankind to flourish or burn by their own merit.
Yet the gods could not abandon their creations so easily. Instead, they send Runes down to earth from the Otherworld, their home. Each god sends down fragments of their power that can be utilised by Men, grafted to the skin or weaponry of those who would dare wield them. Suddenly Blacksmiths had the powers of Goibniu, the god of smithing. Warriors carried flaming blades imbued with the power of Brigit, goddess of fire. These people became Rune Wardens, and these Rune Wardens became closer to gods than to men.
Rune Wardens follows three parties. Husband and Wife, Torin and Aisling, both fierce Warden's in their own right. Grandfather and Grandson, Roysch and Hagan, who are more akin to the gods than even Rune Warden's believe themselves to be. Finally, we have Cian, the legendary Rune Hunter who spends his life finding Runes that the gods have cast to earth, selling them to the highest bidder and killing all those in his way.
A legendary Rune that reportedly awoken on earth, with untold amounts of power and magic within. The Anam Anails, or "Soul's breath". Our characters will each seek out this Rune to serve their own purposes, and whilst they do they will each come across Royalty with hidden agenda, The Korrigan, a people abandoned and betrayed by the gods, and even southern nations that bow to nothing but strength. Who will achieve their goal first? Who will fall along the way? The question the reader should be asking, is how far they would go for the people they love.
