Overview: David Partelow was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He is an avid poet, novelist, father, lover of life, sarcasm advocate, connoisseur of all things nerdy and all around pain in the hind end. He is the creator of the world of LORE and its continuing novels, the upcoming Crescent Moon Saga and has produced a poetry book called "Tomorrow was Yesterday". He is currently working on the next novel of the Vallance War series in LORE and his other interests include writing adventure, steampunk and horror comedy. When not writing he does other stuff. 1. Ashener's Calling
The country of Vallance shines as a stalwart beacon of hope for all of mankind. At great cost and bloodshed, its people now stand united, savoring a golden age of prosperity. Vallance is also the only world that Norryn Ashener has ever known. As his father Alderich faithfully leads from their nation's great capital, Norryn is still too young to yet realize his own importance. But soon he will be forced to face his destiny as the world he loves begins to shatter. And it all starts with a gift, the blessing and curse of an amulet known as Ashener's Calling.
A talisman of untold power, it is the ultimate symbol of leadership within Vallance, forged to reveal and protect a legendary bloodline. From father to son, this amulet is passed to Norryn who must accept his fate and the gravity of such a burden. For little does he know, the bordering country of Thorne holds sinister plans of conquest and destruction, plans for which there may be no stopping.

2. Echoes of Ashener
Five years have passed since the fall of Bannar. Vallance is still reeling from Thorne's assaults and hold to their unity by a thread. Lead by General Nathaniel Cresul, Thorne is ready to strike the final blow and end the war once and for all. Now a diplomat for Vallance, Serra Landring struggles to unify a nation slipping further and further into darkness. But through the turmoil, she receives hope in the form of a cryptic message: Norryn Ashener may still be alive. Against all odds, Serra becomes part of a small search party intent on discovering the truth.
The stakes are high as they tread a road full of countless dangers. Alive or dead, Serra will seek out Norryn at any cost.
