1. A Miscast Spell - Could an ordinary man from modern day Earth change the fate of an entire world?
Coach Duncan Hawkwind is transported to another world by a corrupted spell. Equal parts confused and terrified, he finds himself in a dungeon with three menacing strangers, one very confused mage and a still-warm corpse as screaming creatures scratch at the door, intent on devouring everyone in the room.
Still reeling and full of questions, Duncan is convinced to help the strangers (and himself) out of their dire predicament.
What he doesn't know is that he will soon face a danger that will make this situation seem like a pleasant walk in the park. A danger embodied by a reawakened evil that threatens to destroy an entire world ... and, as it turns out, an evil that only Duncan, the Outsider, can defeat.
2. The Archmage's Tower - For Duncan Hawkwind, the outsider, the kingdom of Syrane now feels like a prison.
On the run from his captors, Duncan continues his search for a way back to modern Earth. The trail leads him to the abandoned Camulus Temple in the Pass of Xiphos.
He finds many loyal friends to help him in his quest, but his enemies are also growing in number. Manfred von Borin and his agents try to end Duncan's life, and the mysterious Watcher continues to exert his influence. When will the Watcher reveal his true nature?
