Just as she struggles to make sense of her previous understanding of magic, and embrace this new realm of lust for vengeance and control, Elsbeth has an agenda of her own: unite the witchlings and teach them all she knows. But how can she when Dissenters now stalk them? Worse still, the bloodletting of witches hasn’t been the only thing disrupting the magic world, and Elsbeth has no idea how deep the roots of warlock anger go. Can she rule the unruly and still protect her witchlings? Can she reset the future when the past has come back to haunt her? When you take up the sword, will you save a legacy or destroy it?
