Overview: At a time many years in the future, New Zealander Seth Bradley, a chauvinistic, homophobic young man, obsessed with having sex with as many women as possible, wakes in a morgue to find his life turned upside down. With the insurance company he works for closing because of the excessive cost of increasingly-frequent destructive weather events, he accepts a job as a courier to take a package to an embattled USA that is split by internal divisions. Along the way he finds himself under repeated attacks by people determined to steal the package. At the same time he struggles to cope with disconcerting changes within himself; changes that undermine his belief in the person he thought he was. Eventually he realises the new Seth has special powers to allow him to survive in this hostile environment.
