Nick Lupo became a werewolf when he was a teenager, but slowly his lonely world has opened up to include the lovely North Woods reservation doctor Jessie Hawkins. In the course of this case, which takes place between the novels WOLF'S GAMBIT and WOLF'S BLUFF, Lupo will face a new phenomenon in his already cluttered life, and this time he'll find that his Jessie might be in the line of fire... because The Archer has a gripe, and he's willing to take his revenge on anyone at all.
