It is October 1903. Sherlock Holmes is about to retire, Watson has married for the umpteenth time, and the Baker Street detective now has the help of an old ex-con, Otis Mercer, to perform everyday tasks of the trade.
When Bernard Baker, Mason and private detective too, enlists the help of the Master to locate the buyer of a strange "rejuvenating elixir" Sherlock Holmes decides to travel to the university town of Camford, where he met with an abominable, mephitic and terrifying threat, as well as a series of enigmas that will challenge the deductive mind of the Great Detective: What secret hides the magic stone owned by the millionaire young newcomer from South America? Who is the man with the metal hand? What are the true intentions of the flamboyant Mr. Pride? What wonders are stored in the college's gloomy basements?
And what's more, can Sherlock Holmes solve all these mysteries, working with new and monstrous allies, and prevent the world's end, invaded by a plague of undead?
