Lady From Argentina
A chequered past makes for a dangerous present…
If Brian Craig had known more about Adelaide Lacoste he might not have been so ready to help her when she was in trouble. It had to be acknowledged that she was a very charming young woman, and he found himself irresistibly attracted to her, but Miss Lacoste had a chequered past. She had had adventures in France and Spain and latterly in Argentina. Now there were two killers hunting for her, and her only thought was to run away. But the trouble followed her, and now it’s spilled over on to Craig...

On Desperate Seas
None of the crew is particularly gratified when the British tanker Rosa Dartle is chosen to carry a cargo of industrial alcohol from Philadelphia to Russia. For these are the dark days of World War II when convoys are receiving the full attention of U-boats and the Luftwaffe. And when six American seamen are embarked to take passage to Archangel there is concocted a human mixture as explosive as the liquid swilling in the tanks.

The men range from Joe Kline, born in Chicago, with a tough life as a prize-fighter behind him, and full of the dangerous hatred of the small-minded, to Steve Carson, a man of different calibre, as tough as Kline, but without the anger. In between are a collection of characters as mismatched as any crew of sailors could ever be.

After prolonged attacks by submarine and aircraft this motley collection of men continue their fight for survival in an open boat, and later, on the mainland in pitiless Arctic conditions. But, in their struggle against the elements and each other the biggest question is who will win?

The Angry Island
When Guy Radford goes to visit an old college friend on the West Indian island of St Marien, he is blissfully unaware of the trouble he is flying into.

Divisions of race and wealth have created such tensions between desperate workers and powerful plantation owners that a violent showdown is inevitable. When Radford unwittingly becomes caught in the crossfire, he finds his own life in danger. And, as the conflict intensifies, the fact that he has fallen in love adds merely one more complication to an already tricky situation...

Dishonour Among Thieves
Tom Benton never intended to get involved in a violent armed robbery.

He knew that Gus Houlder was crazy and not safe to have around with a sawn-off shotgun. The idiot might do anything – and in the end he did the worst. After that luck began to run out fast for all the gang – Benton, Sangster, Dobie and Jackie, as well as Gus himself.

So Benton walks out and returns to his roots, down on the farm, desperately trying to escape his past. But he finds trouble there too, and is forced to return to London as he needs money. That was the worst mistake he ever made…
