7. Paws of the Yeti- The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving it might get him killed.
When he is called to investigate a Yeti attack in the French Alps, Tempest Michaels is certain it will just be another fool in a costume - He’s going to solve the case in five minutes and spend a few days skiing. Yay!
Guess again.
The mountain, the locals, and above all, the Yeti, have other plans in mind.
With the Dachshunds doing their best to avoid the cold and Big Ben distracted by the abundant snow bunnies on offer, Tempest is in for a tougher test than he expected.
Tempest Michaels is the guy you call when something goes bump in the night, but he doesn’t believe any of it is real! He’ll go all out to solve each case, but with his mother in tow, his dogs creating havoc and his friends chipping in as backup, you can expect mayhem to accompany the murder and mystery.
12. Night Work - When other people’s weird is your normal, what do you do when your life gets weird?</b?
For Jane Butterworth the paranormal is just a day job. She works at the Blue Moon Investigation Agency, a firm that specialises in cases that no one else will take, cases that start at strange and unexplainable and tier rapidly south from there.
Her boss is away dealing with a Yeti in France, but the enquiries keep coming so when Chief Inspector Quinn of the local police wants to hire the firm as special consultants, Jane signs them up and takes it on herself.
But a swamp monster? Really?
Bodies of dead cops have been showing up in nearby Biddenden Lake, the site of an unexplained death three years ago. Is there a link between that death and these? The whole area is steeped in ancient history, ghost stories are two-a-penny here but is she really cut out to be a detective?
Time to put her big girl pants on.
Crossdressing isn’t always glamourous.
13. Lord Hale's Monster - Every second generation of the Hale line dies at the hands of an unnameable monster on his 80th birthday. The current Lord Hale turns 80 this Saturday.
To protect himself, Lord Hale has invited paranormal investigation experts Tempest Michaels and Amanda Harper plus their friends and a whole host of other guests from different fields of supernatural exploration for a birthday dinner at his mansion.
As they sit down for dinner, the lights start to dim and a moaning noise disturbs the polite conversation. Has Lord Hale placed his faith in the right people, or just led them to share his doom?
Finding themselves trapped, Tempest and Amanda, with friends Big Ben and Patience must join forces with a wizard, some scientists, and occult experts, ghost chasers, witches, and other assorted idiots as they fight to make it through the night in one piece.
Could this be their final adventure? Will Tempest finally be proven wrong about the paranormal?
14. Herne Bay Howlers - Some people like to flirt with danger. These guys kick it in the balls and then shag its sister.
When two bikers are found half-eaten, the coroner’s report records an animal attack. But England doesn’t have any large predators …
… unless you count werewolves.
Tempest Michaels, paranormal detective, gets hired by the dead bikers’ gang to find out what happened and point the finger at a new rival motorcycle club in the next town. Calling themselves the Herne Bay Howlers, they proudly display a werewolf on their jackets and they are far from your average Hell’s Angels.
But Tempest doesn’t believe in the paranormal, and werewolves are right up there on his list of fake nonsense he wants to kick in the nuts. He goes in fully charged and ready, with former army mate and force of nature, Big Ben, at his side. However, this mystery is nothing like the simple case he expected and when Amanda Harper, his business partner/girlfriend, demands he drop it, he’ll have to put everything on the line to find the truth.
Is he right? Are they just idiots in good costumes, or is he about to bite off something that will chew him? The stakes are always high, but when the chips come down, do the guys have what it takes to see this one through?
15. Undead Incorporated - The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving it might get him killed
A woman whose dead husband is haunting her? That sounds like a routine case. Until she reveals her husband’s name …
… and a past event Tempest wants to forget comes back to haunt him. Taking a case he doesn’t want, its only hours before he finds a threat on his doorstep.
Leave the dead to be dead.
Unfortunately, that’s not always possible.
16. The Ghoul of Christmas Past - Twas the day before Christmas and Michael Michaels is about to upset his wife.
Recent adventures with his son, Tempest, have piqued his need for a little more action in his life …
… but when he finds himself facing off against a giant ghoul a few hours later, he begins to think he should have listened to Mary and stayed at home.
In trouble with the police, in trouble with his wife, and generally just in trouble, Michael Michaels knows he has uncovered a mystery, but just what the heck is going on? A theft from a museum, a missing man, and a scary figure lurking in the shadows … what do they add up to?
Michael has no idea, but he’s going to find out.
With a little help from a certain bookshop owner and his assistants, Tempest’s dad has only a few hours to solve this case. But when the chips are down, does he have what it takes to come up with a cool line at the right time? Or is he just another pensioner trying to do more than his old bones will allow?
The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving it might just get them all killed.
17. The Sandman - The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving it might get them killed.
Jane is missing.
Taken by a serial killer known only as the Sandman, Tempest and friends must unravel the clues to find her before night falls.
Why so soon? Because that is when he kills his victims, bringing them dreams as he sings them to sleep, just like in the song.
The police won’t even acknowledge the serial killer exists which leaves them on their own, sifting through Jane’s notes and piecing together fractured clues and half-baked theories in a desperate scramble to find the man at the core of this mystery.
However, the Sandman wants to be found. Jane’s investigation was getting too close, so he is using her to draw in the whole Blue Moon team. He has a game for them to play and the dice are loaded in his favour.
In their deadliest adventure yet, Tempest and friends must race against the clock to save their missing team member. Can they win? Do they even understand the rules of the game?
Get ready to feel your pulse race as our heroes grit their teeth and face the dark one more time.
18. Jailhouse Golem - Incarcerated for a crime he gladly committed, paranormal detective, Tempest Michaels, has been enjoying the peace and quiet. But all that is about to change …
… there’s a monster roaming the prison’s passageways at night and it’s just taken a life.
The legend of the jailhouse golem is more than two hundred years old and though it has been investigated in the past, no one has ever come close to solving the mystery.
He won’t get paid for this one, but there’s something more valuable at stake … his life.
Surrounded by inmates who want to kill him, facing a creature that cannot be killed because it isn’t alive, and worried the very guards employed to protect him might be the ones behind it all, Tempest Michaels faces his toughest challenge yet.
Worse yet, he’s all alone.
Get ready for a tale so fast-paced you’ll lose your breath!
The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving it might get him killed.
19. Sparks in the Darkness - Fire.
Every creature fears it.
Except one.
When a call late one evening leads Jane to Buckingham Palace, she holds no concern the dragon they want her to investigate is real.
Until she gets there, that is.
20. Shadow in the Mine - Called to investigate a mystery at a local gypsum mine, paranormal detective, Tempest Michaels, expects to find a rational explanation for the strange events …
… instead, he discovers a body and a horrified staff.
Recent earthworks exposed something ancient, twisted, and above all evil. It has claimed one life already and the staff are terrified for who might be next.
No one saw what it was though, just a glimpse of a shadow.
Why does it want to keep people away from the area? Will it claim more bodies as the mine’s owners believe? Or can Tempest unravel the mystery behind the shadow before it can strike again?
One thing is for sure, this is like nothing he’s ever faced before, and just maybe this time, the creature is real.
The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving might just get him killed.
21. Ghost Writer - In the nation’s Capital, someone is re-enacting the murders from a series of grisly horror books, and all the evidence points towards the author as the perpetrator.
The big problem with that? He died a year ago.
In suspicious circumstances.
There were rumours of murder, but no arrests followed the original investigation. Now the victims are those who were closest to him, and it looks like the author has come back from the dead to exact his revenge.
Hired by the author’s wife, who fears she may be next, Amanda and Tempest head to London for a case that will challenge the premise on which their business is built: that the supernatural does not exist.
You’re going to want to sleep with the light on.
The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving it might get them killed.
22. Monsters Everywhere - Tempest Michaels has a vampire problem.
He’s an old hat at this game and dealing with cases like this are his speciality. Except this time …
… the vampires are his clients.
When someone starts targeting members of the local vampire Live Action Role Play club, there’s only one person they can think of to turn to – their old nemesis, Tempest Michaels.
Unfortunately for Tempest, when he takes the case, he doesn’t realise they automatically assume that means twenty-four-hour protection. All too soon he has vampire wannabes camping on his lawn, he has vampires wannabes sleeping in his shed, and as for his office …
He needs to solve this case and fast and it’s not the only one demanding his attention.
