Roger is a member of the Crime Writers Association. He lives a fairly happy existence with his wife Mary in the town of Bromersley in South Yorkshire.

#8 The Man Who Couldn't Lose
Detective Inspector Michael Angel and his team investigate another puzzling and chilling case of murder in the south Yorkshire town of Bromersley. #15 Shrine to Murder

#16 The Snuffbox Murders
Inspector Angel and his team are looking for an antiques thief and murderer who tears out the tongue of anyone he fears might give him away. #19 The Diamond Rosary Murders
Detective Inspector Michael Angel is summoned to the back streets of the South Yorkshire town of Bromersley to investigate the murder of a good time girl. She is thought to be a member of a gang wanted for stealing the priceless diamond and ruby rosary which had belonged to Queen Mary 1st, however when Angel arrives, her body has disappeared. Also, millionaire, Haydn King tells Superintendent Harker of his frequent nightmares portraying his death, and two days later he is found dead exactly as the nightmares had indicated. The investigations become more mystifying and dangerous, as Angel races to find the explanation to stop more mayhem and murder.

#20 The Big Fiddle
When a man is found dead, and his carer, a good-time girl, is suspected of his murder, Detective Inspector Angel is drawn into an intricate web of family lies and deceit. The dead man's daughter is hiding something, and his granddaughter seems incapable of telling anyone the truth. The pressure is on for Angel to unravel the mystery and identify the killer before another body is found.

#21 The Fruit Gum Murders
Detective Inspector Michael Angel is called out to investigate the murder of a penniless man staying at the luxurious Feathers Hotel in the South Yorkshire town of Bromersley. The only clue is a red fruit gum left near the dead man by the murderer. Other murders follow, and the presence of a fruit gum by each body greatly puzzles him. Also there is a clever thief in the town, who surreptitiously relieves the rich of their jewellery. Angel is under pressure to catch him. Could it be Harry “the hatchet” Harrison? #22 The Money Tree Murders
Detective Inspector Michael Angel and his team are sent to investigate the murder of a pretty young woman. Angel interviews eccentric Abercrombie, who tows a boxcar scavenging for fuel to heat his cottage, and further inquiries lead Angel to another body. Also, Angel gets unwillingly involved with a recently married middle-aged couple who have bought a house haunted by the ghost of an alcoholic dentist and his family who died tragically in 1760.
