#1 - Mute Witness
To protect a witness, a loose cannon of a cop takes on the whole mob
Clancy doesn't care that the shooter is a witness in an important trial. All he knows is that the guy has a gun—and no one pulls a gun on Lieutenant Clancy of the NYPD. Shooting the state's witness earns Clancy a transfer to the backwater 52nd Precinct. To get his career on track, he is forced to accept a humiliating assignment: babysitting mob kingpin Johnny Rossi while he waits to testify before the crime commission. When a thug guns Rossi down in his hotel room, Clancy suspects the killer had a man inside. He will bring fiery justice to those responsible, whether the rats are in the mafia or in City Hall.
The inspiration for the Steve McQueen film Bullitt, this novel has all the tension and excitement of a classic.
#2 - The Quarry
A New York cop goes after an escaped prisoner with murder on his mind
For a hit-and-run with a stolen car, Lenny Cervera bought himself five to ten in Sing Sing. When his sentence comes down, this two-bit thug vows revenge on everyone who helped put him there. He swears to kill the judge, the district attorney, and the cop who cuffed him: Lieutenant Clancy, the toughest detective in the NYPD. But Clancy pays him no mind. Every hood talks tough when he's going up river, but Sing Sing always breaks them down. Clancy has no idea that Lenny Cervera is about to arrange an early release.
Four convicts bust out of the prison in a provision truck and are speeding through Ossining when a local cop stops them. The encounter leaves one con dead, another injured, and the cop clinging to life. Lenny Cervera gets away. Clancy knows Cervera is coming for him. He will be waiting with a gun.
#3 - Police Blotter
In the roughest precinct in New York, one cop tries to hold back the flood of crime
It's a lovely autumn in the Big Apple, and the weather is perfect for trouble. Over the weekend, a teenage gang rumbled on the playground, leaving a fifteen year-old stabbed and a younger boy beaten half to death; a high-speed chase left one dead and two badly injured; and a fire in a tenement killed two—and the police found the arsonist standing outside, relishing his handiwork. It was a beautiful weekend in the city, and every deadly incident found its way across the police blotter of the Fifty-Second Precinct and into the hands of Lieutenant Clancy.
One of the hardest detectives on the force, Clancy will be tested with everything from a recluse's murder to an assassination attempt at the United Nations this fall. It may be his job, but it is never routine.
