7 The Tenth Plague
Ancient Egypt, 1229 BC
As Thebes prepares for the annual Opet festival an unknown plague erupts, indicative of the Gods' rage. Bodies of those struck down by the Gods are found on the rooftop kitchens of Thebes, further feeding the citizens' fear. The careful placement of the bodies, their presentation and the sadistic nature of their death all point to preempted murder and something far more sinister.
This while the High Priest of Amun attempts to manipulate events to his advantage, also challenging Ramesses' authority by calling for the burning of bodies. Forcing Neti and Shabaka to opposing ends with little time to investigate the murders that could bring about the changing of the times.
8 Mystery of the Temple
In a city recovering from the plague, Shabaka and Neti are called upon to investigate the sudden death and decomposition of two bodies.
Their investigation is soon further complicated when staff at Ramesses' villa contract a mysterious skin condition that results in them turning on each other. Neti and Shabaka must then discover how both relate to the mysterious Temple of Isis ...
9 Pharaoh's Gold
On Shabaka and Netiis return to Pi-Ramesses, an informant confides in them that gold is disappearing from the craft hall. This coincides with Ramessesi instructions to scrutinize the affluent adjustment to the Master Craftsmanis lifestyle.
However the informantis inhumane murder and changes within the craft hall complicates finding not only those responsible for the murder, but also those behind the missing gold ...
10 The Trader s Pact
As efforts to dismantle the prefects intensify, another dead girl is identified as one of the missing girls. Torn between declaring the girl’s death a murder or suicide, Neti, Shabaka and Moses face even more complex developments as Ramesses hands them a new mandate.
A mandate that results in a great deal of pandemonium from all the craft halls since it opposes all of the founding traditions of the Egyptian empire. Events also question whether they are getting too close to those responsible for the kidnappings and murders, or if they are merely coincidences.
Their findings finally reveal a far greater evil than expected ...
