13. Wicked Delight
Ivy Morgan and Jack Harker don’t have many complaints.
Things are good, life is quiet, and the only big thing on their to-do lists is picking a date for their wedding, which is exactly what they’re doing when a local celebutante approaches with an offer for Jack to be on a dating show.
He turns her down flat and goes on his way, but the next morning, she’s found dead and the list of suspects is endless thanks to the production landing smackdab in the middle of Shadow Lake.
Ivy doesn’t like having Hollywood on her doorstep. Jack is even worse, especially when he realizes the producers want Ivy to step in and take the dead heiress’s spot in the limelight. The idea of cameras following Ivy when magical things keep happening around her is enough to paralyze the couple … and then force them to run to avoid the harsh glare of the viewing public.
Jack and Ivy have a lot on their plates. They have to solve a murder, figure out what the witch in the woods is trying to tell them when it comes to the nature of the human soul, and pick a wedding date.
It’s all in a day’s work for Shadow Lake’s favorite couple. If they live to survive the dark force descending on their town, that is. They’ll have to work together to overcome imminent evil … but they’re used to that, of course.
14. Wicked Respite
Ivy Morgan and Jack Harker are going camping … again.
It’s meant to be a romantic vacation, a time when they can simply lay under the stars and enjoy one another before plans for their wedding begin in earnest. It doesn’t quite turn out that way.
When Ivy’s brother Max invites himself along for the ride – along with his new girlfriend, who he’s trying to impress – Jack isn’t happy. Ivy, however, is curious enough about the woman who has stolen her brother’s heart – seemingly out of nowhere – to allow it.
Because it’s Jack and Ivy, things don’t go smoothly. Their first night at camp results in the death of a woman who looks a lot like Max’s girlfriend. Things only spiral more out of control from there.
Ivy is in a tough spot. She’s loyal to her brother beyond imagination but there’s something about Amy that doesn’t ring true, and Ivy is determined to find out every single one of the woman’s secrets.
When murder follows them home, things become dire, and it’s Ivy who must use her new abilities (along with a little help from her friends) to sort things out. Murder is on the menu and it’s going to take everyone working together to make it out alive.

Ivy Morgan is getting married, which means she needs a dress. Now that she’s finally embraced the idea of planning for the wedding (rather than just enjoying the marriage and honeymoon) she’s gung-ho to check things off her list.
The local dressmaker Zelda Morris has just the thing for Ivy. Before she can show it to her, though, she’s murdered in the back of her own store … while Ivy waits for her to return to the storefront. Unfortunately for Ivy, because she didn’t hear a thing, that makes her a suspect.
Jack Harker isn’t happy with the turn of events. He knows Ivy is innocent but he’s in a precarious position. If word gets out that he’s protecting his fiancée, then the Michigan State Police could take over the investigation, and he’s worried they might fixate on Ivy. That means he has to dig deep for answers … and what he finds is troubling.
It seems Zelda was only one of a multitude of women dating local lothario Henry Spencer, a man who has more girlfriends than brains. One of those girlfriends happens to be Ivy’s aunt, Felicity Goodings, which means the long eye of the law falls directly on both of them.
It’s up to Jack and Ivy to untangle a mess of motives and suspects, which include her beloved aunt. That causes issues with Ivy’s mother, who is loyal to her sister to a fault.
It’s a tense time, and it only gets worse when Ivy decides to embrace her magic and use it to solve the case. There’s a killer on the loose and Ivy might be a target because she can’t keep her nose out of trouble. She needs to discover a killer, avoid this individual’s wrath, and continue planning her wedding if she wants a happily ever after. It’s going to be a tall task.
