Jill Quint, MD Forensic Pathologist Series by Alec Peche (10-11, 13-14)
Requirements: epub reader, 1.2 mb
Overview: I'm a book lover with mystery (mostly) and romance (occasionally) being the only two genres read. I have lived in Northern and Southern California, New York City, Green Bay, WI, and Gainsville, FL.
Genre: Mystery/Thriller

10. Opus Murder - A concert pianist making a comeback...
Jill and her team are taking a vacation in Toronto and Montreal, Canada. On their list of things-to-do was a free Friday concert series at a local church in downtown Toronto. It was a great way to relax and get off of their feet after sightseeing.
The pianist is brilliant and is moving towards the crescendo of Beethoven's Opus 110 when out of the church's organ pipes, an ice arrow strikes him in the heart. The pianist clearly has superb musical talent, but he also has secrets. The assassin knew his target and his music. Jill is out of her pew and at the pianist's side before the echo of the last chord finished, but it was a fatal injury and now she and her team get dragged into the investigation.
11. Forensic Murder - Who knows the most about how to get away with murder
Jill, Nathan, and Angela head to New Zealand and Australia on a trip that is part work and part vacation. Jill is speaking at a forensic conference, while her friends are meeting with wineries to conduct business.
Dr. Jill Quint is a forensic pathologist by training. She left her crime lab to pursue her own winery, but was called back by old colleagues to comment on cases. Those referrals expanded into a business where Jill offers second opinions on the cause of death. She also has her PI license and can be hired to investigate a suspicious death. Her friends assist her with cases by bringing their own skills like accounting, interviewing, and social media research. Nathan is her partner, and is a world renown wine label designer.
New Zealand has a reputation as a very safe country, so why are people dying in the cities she visited so far on her trip? They aren't dying by gunshot or stabbing, rather these are unusual 'accidents'. In time, it becomes clear that these deaths are staged as 'how to get away with murder' events by a professional.
As Jill and friends transition to Australia, will the killer follow them? Is Jill the final target?
13. Ashes to Murder - A wedding night interrupted by murder. . . .
Jill and Nathan are in Asheville, North Carolina for his wine label business. He proposes and they organize a wedding in an old church ruin. Jill is a part-time vintner and consulting Forensic Pathologist, while Nathan is a world-renowned wine label designer.
After their guests have left and they're making the final sweep of their location, the property owner notifies Jill that their officiant is lying in the attached vineyard and is unresponsive to his voice. Jill rushes over and checks the woman to find her cold and pulseless. The police arrive and their officiant is transported to Charlotte for forensic examination.
Jill can’t help as she’s a suspect, right? Fortunately, her friends that help her with cases are nearby having witnessed their nuptials. The team goes to work on their wedding night to solve the mystery of the woman’s death.
14. Mint Death - What would happen if a medical emergency broke out in the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, where millions of dollars in freshly made paper bills are kept?
Ed Thomas was the operator of the sheet-cutting machine and had just pressed the stop button when he fainted. Paramedicsarrived too late; he had already flatlined. A sad case of a heart attack victim, or so it seemed. But his daughter contacted Dr. Jill Quint, Forensic Pathologist, P.I., and winemaker, to investigate her father's death. Before Dr. Quint could examine Ed's remains, they were stolen from the Medical Examiner's office by a fraudulent mortuary crew. After rummaging through Ed's apartment and finding a series of threatening letters he had received, it became apparent that someone wanted him dead.
