Overview: I write books about the human condition and what can go wrong. I am interested in what makes people tick and nature. The combination of the two provide me with a rich landscape to create characters. I live with my husband and my pets and I walk the field and moorlands looking for material. Before my writing life I worked in an office. I love painting and knitting and researching family history.
Genre: Fiction > Mystery/Thriller

1. The Little Death
When Patti moves to the moor she finds the peaceful haven she expected awash with people visiting an old plane wreck. She suspects her husband David is having an affair and when mysterious stranger Gabriel turns up her life becomes increasingly entangled with him and the moor.
Patti is an aetiologist. She is studying the pollination of the moor and keeps hives but is distracted by the dark shape of the wreckage in the distance. Her psychic neighbour Sarah is obsessed with la petite mort and when Patti confides her fears about David she advises her to look to Gabriel for comfort. Through him Patti meets Polly, an old woman who she has been wandering the moor searching for her childhood sweetheart who died in the plane crash. As Patti finds out more about David’s infidelity she realises that his actions are much more sinister that she could ever imagine. Is it too late for Gabriel and Patti? And will Polly find the answer to her questions in time?
2. The Tintagel Secret
When a woman’s body is found in the quiet Cornish village of Tintagel, Lizzie Nelson fears that her Top Secret will be discovered. Lizzie has moved to Cornwall to guard her secret and to escape from her past. Now she’s receiving threatening notes and her past is about to catch up with her.
Lizzie has suffered at the hands of her family as they try to make her give up her ‘Top Secret’ and her son has disowned her. With her Top Secret weighing down on her, and her discovery that her son’s life has moved on, Lizzie gets lost in the King Arthur myths of her childhood and becomes destitute.
Lizzie is embroiled in a relationship with Jer Thomas, an ex-Hells Angel who questions her closely about the local legends. Hungry for company, Lizzie believes that Jer has fallen in love with her. The village busybody, Julia Scholes, sees Lizzie’s decline and is desperate to get her out of the village, considering her ‘bad for business’.
Detective Inspector Mia Connelly intervenes but Lizzie cannot tell Mia about her notes as they relate to the golden trinket that she is being threatened over, and only Lizzie knows where this is – with her Top Secret. She comes to realise that the piece of scrap, which her mother and father found near Cadbury Castle, has sent her father insane and the rest of her family mad with greed and is the source of the notes. Now someone is coming to get her because she has it.
3. The Third Act
What if your teenage past came back to haunt you?
Tara Whyte has the perfect life. She has a new job as a script developer and she is married to Luke Whyte, an award-winning interior designer. They live in the Whyte House, a fashionable Knightsbridge town house, with their children Peter and Susan.
Tara’s new TV Production company organises an open call for scripts to welcome her and she is barely settled in when she realises that one of the scripts is about her earlier life. It’s the story of a brief relationship with a guy she only knew as Jed when she was seventeen. The problem is, Tara knows what happens in the third act. We all have secrets. We all have a past. But who is Tara Whyte?
One by one, wrongdoings are discovered, culminating in Tara breaking her fear-induced silence to tell the truth. Tara realises that there are people in her life, including Selena and Luke, who believe her, and she finds the strength to stand up to her past.
The Whyte House questions whether identity is fixed, or, viewed through the prism of the past, the future and online presence, we can have multiple selves and multiple truths.
