1. A Tail of Two Murders - Wayside Bay is a quiet little coastal town where nothing ever happens.
Until Charlie Winston discovers the dead body of her favorite dog grooming client, Lana Anderson. Murder doesn’t happen in their tiny town!
Charlie is horrified, but after the shock wears off, she’s intrigued and begins asking questions. Her best friend Mabel tells her to stay out of it before she gets hurt. Charlie tries to keep her nose clean, but then a second murder occurs. Charlie and Mabel can’t help but think the two murders are connected, even if the police don’t.
As the case unfolds, Charlie and her dogs become a target. Someone wants her to quit being such a nosy busybody. Is she close to finding the killer? Charlie thinks so. Wayside Bay’s Chief Capistrano doesn’t and orders Charlie to steer clear before she gets herself or someone else killed.
As the investigation continues, the police can’t nail down one suspect and seem to be arresting everyone in town, including Charlie’s close friends. Charlie becomes frustrated by law enforcement’s lack of progress and delves deeper—some would say she’s meddling—into the case. Charlie enlists Mabel’s help and the two are determined to unmask the Wayside Bay killer—or killers!
Do they catch the killer? Or does their meddling hinder the investigation?
3. Doggone Deadly - Best friends on a quilting weekend at the beach. A summer storm, a missing quilter, no electricity. What else could go wrong? Everything!
Charlie and Mabel are looking forward to the Jelly Cove 'Quilts and Hounds' weekend retreat at the beach. They go every year to relax, learn new quilting techniques, and hang out with the dogs. The retreat is off to a windy start when the first day is interrupted by a surprise summer windstorm which turns out to be the storm of the century for Jelly Cove. The storm knocks out the electricity and with no power, there’s no quilting! Then a landslide blocks any escape. The force of the storm knocks out all communication to the outside world.
As the retreat owners try to keep their guests calm, things go from windy to worse when one of the quilters disappears. Did she go off on her own? Charlie thinks not. Seems a little fishy to her. With no way to reach anyone, the quilters are stranded and nobody knows how long. Charlie thinks the weekend couldn't get worse. Wrong. Cars are crushed, sabotage is afoot, and secrets between friends emerge. And don't forget a dead body!
Can Charlie and Mabel stitch the clues together to solve the murder before they’re rescued and the killer strikes again?
4. Fur, Felonies & Fortune - A dognapping, whispers of a hidden fortune, murder. Can Charlie’s dogged sleuthing skills uncover the killer before she’s dead and buried like an old bone?
The new dog grooming salon Charlie Winston opened recently is running smoothly and gaining in popularity with new clients like rich hotel owner Eliza Lancaster.
That is until Eliza’s prized pedigree Pandora is dognapped right out of the salon. Charlie thinks she’ll be out of business by chowtime if they don’t find Pandora.
Things go from bad to worse when Eliza ends up murdered, and the dog trainer Charlie hired is the prime suspect. Of course he is! What more could go wrong?
Plenty. Charlie digs deeper into the Lancaster family after hearing rumors of buried gold coins. When clues point to the chief of police and his possible involvement, Charlie and Mabel take the case by the tail to find the culprit.
Can they uncover the killer before they’re dead and buried like an old bone?
