Last week, the part-elf, part-human, part anything else discovered a dead troll in his lab at Myth, Inc., the largest employer and governing body of the not-so-magical myth. Then he found the body of his boss’s boss. He only solved one of the two murders. On the bright side, he found the girl of his dreams. Too bad she ran out on him. This week, he’s juggling a new job and a raging case of jealousy. Plus, Myth’s police force asked him to use his extraordinary sense of smell to solve a kidnapping. Then ignored his advice. As Rory searches for the kidnapping victim on his own, the clock ticks down. Can he find him before time runs out? Because it’s running out fast.

They call me the Schnoz. I solve crimes with my sense of smell. After a difference of opinion, I left Myth, Inc., the largest employer and governing body of the not-so-magical myth, and hung out my shingle as a private investigator. In the middle of winter. On the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. Business has been slow. Then my ex-boss walks in, needing my discrete help on a personal matter. Before I can jump on that with no enthusiasm at all, his sister, Kix, for whom I carry a torch, is found half dead on an icy sidewalk. Her companion is missing and later discovered near the shoreline, a bullet hole in her skull. When a second woman is killed and the similarities between the two cases can’t be dismissed, I’m pulled back into Myth’s sphere to help solve the murders. With a possible serial killer on the loose, and my extraordinary sense of smell providing the only clues, can I catch the murderer before he kills again or completes his unfinished business with the love of my life?
