Ahead of the Curse - It's only natural that Perry has made it her mission to hunt magical monsters, since she already attracts them in droves, but she doesn’t expect her latest assignment to see her exiled from London and sent to a castle in the middle of nowhere. The 'castle' part is pretty cool, admittedly, but like most things in her life, it comes with a downside.
Namely, she won't be living there alone. Joining a team of fellow monster wasn't on her plan, let alone a secretive witch, a suspiciously friendly werewolf, a foul-tempered vampire, and an enigmatic mentor who asks far too many questions about her past. Perry can't wait to get out of there, but to win her freedom, she first has to help her new 'team' investigate a mysterious death in the local woods.
As Perry knows well, nothing is ever as simple as it seems. With secrets hidden among both the locals and her fellow team members and all the clues pointing towards a magical monster that even Perry has never encountered before, it's going to take a lot for this cursed witch to win the day…
2. From Bad to Curse - Another day, another magical monster to hunt.
Perry and her new team have barely had time to recover from their first mission before they're assigned to another - this one taking them outside of their castle as they travel to a small fishing community to investigate the mysterious deaths of a couple of tourists.
At first glance, it seems a simple case of a magical beastie that needs to be put in its place, but the locals are none too pleased with their presence, and worse, one of the Wardens' notorious inspectors has shown up to assess their team. Between her hate-hate relationship with the snarky vampire Maurice and her growing crush on her off-limits mentor, Tam, Perry finds herself in a bit of a jam when it comes to impressing the inspector. Especially one who seems to have a personal grudge against her.
Solving the crime is Perry's only hope of proving herself to the Wardens, but in a village swimming with secrets, she soon finds herself out of her depth. Can she and the others find an unseen killer, or is it the end of the line for their fledgling team?
3. Blessing and Curse - In the aftermath of their last mission, Perry’s team is given another assignment: to track down several missing children who disappeared into a forest near their village.
At first glance, the case seems simpler than their last one, despite the lack of evidence of any monsters in the area… with the exception of the annoying paranormal hunter lurking in the forest and getting in their way.
Until Tam vanishes, too.
Perry refuses to let an invisible enemy stop her from getting her team leader back, but it won’t be long before she discovers the depth of the secrets surrounding the village and the forest - and the enemy might be closer to home than she realises.
